Fibre Optic Installation & Splicing

OS2 singlemode and OM multimode fibre installation, fusion splicing, termination and testing for backbone links, campus runs and long-distance connections.

Fibre is what keeps buildings, floors and sites connected when copper runs too far or bandwidth demands outgrow it. We install and splice OS2 singlemode and OM3/OM4/OM5 multimode fibre for backbone links between comms rooms, building-to-building runs and high-bandwidth connections.

Our engineers fusion splice on site, keeping loss figures low and connections stable for the long term, then test every link with OTDR and power meter readings before handover.

We work alongside your structured cabling and network hardware installs so fibre backbones and copper edge cabling are planned as one system, not two separate jobs.

What's included

  • Fibre route survey and design
  • Fusion splicing and termination
  • OTDR and loss testing with results supplied
  • Backbone links between buildings and comms rooms
  • Integration with existing copper structured cabling
  • As-built fibre schedules on handover

FAQs

Singlemode or multimode — which do I need?

Singlemode (OS2) suits long-distance and backbone runs with the lowest signal loss; multimode (OM3/OM4/OM5) is typically used over shorter distances within a building or campus. We'll advise based on your run lengths and bandwidth needs.

Do you splice fibre on site or only install pre-terminated cable?

Both — we fusion splice on site for custom runs and can also install pre-terminated assemblies where the route allows it.

Can you test and certify fibre links?

Yes, every fibre link is tested with OTDR and power meter readings, with full results supplied at handover.
